About Tennis Surfaces (Types of Courts!)

Now i would include more tennis surfaces, the surface on which tennis is played.  International tennis played on different surfaces there are four types of surfaces:

  1. Hard Court
  2. Clay Court
  3. Grass Court
  4. Synthetic Court
  5. Wood Court ( these courts were popular in the late 1880s till half of the 19 century and now are no longer used).

The above are four kinds of surfaces which are usually used to play different tournaments and  Grand-slams. Australian and US open are played on Hard, French Open on Clay court and Wimbledon is played on Grass Courts. These are the most prestigious tournaments in tennis which are played every year.

  1. There are several kinds of tennis surface. And from years we have also found several kinds of tennis surface such as; clay surface, synthetic surface, hard courts and grass courts. With the flow of time the trend of playing on clay courts is also finished, now a days synthetic and hard courts are very much in demand.
